If you do the work yourself, you should study the recommendations of experts and take a responsible approach to the repair.

Common reasons for parsing the canvas

Before proceeding with the dismantling and disassembly of the door structure, make sure that it is definitely necessary. In some cases, such actions are practically the only way out. These situations include:

• Breakage of the lock mechanism. It is necessary to disassemble the inner lining of the canvas using a number of tools: a hammer, screwdriver, etc.
• The skew of the canvas, provoked by the weakening of the hinges. You will need to replace the old awnings with new ones. Without dismantling the canvas, this will definitely not work. And keep in mind that the new hinges must fully match the existing holes
• Door insulation. Improvement of heat and sound insulation characteristics is impossible without dismantling the structure. To perform such work, it is also necessary to disassemble the entrance web.
• Sometimes it is recommended to remove the door when transporting bulky items, furniture. This measure will avoid deformation of the box and other damage.

Stages of parsing entrance doors

For work, prepare a set of tools that will come in handy in the process of disassembling the door leaf. You will need several types of screwdrivers, pliers, a hammer, a nail puller, a grinder and other devices. The work is carried out in stages.

Removing the canvas

First you need to remove the metal entrance doors from the hinges. It is unlikely that you will be able to cope alone, so enlist the help of a second person. The dismantling process largely depends on the type of canopy. Dismantling is quite simple to dismantle. You will need a pry bar, a small piece of wood for support. The sash is pushed open as much as possible so that the canvas is not within the box. Next, leave the pry bar so that the bottom edge of the tool goes under the bottom of the butt-end in the center. Apply force and push down on the pry bar until the upper hinge parts are completely removed from the pins. For one-piece hinges, use wood blades and a screwdriver. Immediately open completely and support the canvas at the edges from below. Unscrew the splines at the end. Try not to unscrew all the fasteners indiscriminately, otherwise you can unscrew the screws for adjustment. Note. It is more comfortable and safer to start dismantling work from the lower hinges. This will prevent the structure from falling. However, you should not neglect the help of a partner in any case.

Dismantle the fittings

To make it convenient to work with the door, it is advisable to remove the fittings. It is also expedient from the point of view of its safety. The peephole can be easily removed. Unscrew the nut on the canvas from the side of the apartment and take out the product. The handle can also be removed. First, remove the decorative cover with a regular screwdriver or screwdriver. Next, unscrew the handle with pliers, take out the system with the tongue and other elements. The lock is also worth dismantling. Start at the core of the lock by unscrewing and removing the screw at the end of the door. Then remove the lock completely.

Disassemble the structure

You need to understand that the door leaves have a certain assembly technology. Sometimes parsing is not possible at all, especially in the case of cheap Chinese models. If you try to disassemble the door, you may permanently damage it. Therefore, first make sure that such work is possible, and then proceed to the mentioned steps. Iron entrance doors are often of 2 types. At the first, the seams are point-welded, so that when parsing they can be cut off with a grinder. Work carefully so as not to deform the door. The second type is made in such a way that the frame is firmly welded to the metal sheet. It is impossible to disassemble the door for insulation. In this case, the only way out will be external thermal insulation. The outer skin is mounted on a prepared wooden frame on top of an iron sheet. The gap is filled with insulation, after which the outside is closed with a fiberboard panel.

How to disassemble an interior door yourself

These types of doors differ from the input materials of manufacture, weight and other parameters. Accordingly, there are peculiarities of dismantling. Dismantling of interior doors is carried out according to the following scheme:

• The canvas is removed from the hinges. It is necessary to place the end of the mount under the maximally open sash, and then carefully lift the door until it exits the hinges. In this case, it is advisable to move the canvas slightly to the left and right. This will help to quickly remove it from the awnings.
• Disassemble the platbands. It is necessary to drive the point of the ax between the platband and the upright frame. Effort should be applied until a gap appears. The same should be done at the attachment points, and then remove the platband. Rarely at it is given to dismantle these products without deformation, so they are unlikely to be suitable for reuse.
• Remove the nails from the box (if any). It is necessary to cut a bar around the head of the fastener in order to free up some space for working with the tool. Next, remove the nail with a nail puller or pliers.
• Saw the vertical stand. This should be done at a distance of about 70 cm from the floor. If the attachment point is visible, you should step back from it by 20 cm. After that, place the tip of the ax or nail puller between the slope and the rack (below the cut area). With the help of effort, remove the bar.
• Remove the horizontal bar. The cut is not required. You just need to squeeze the bar down with force and a tool.

The scheme is relatively simple and is suitable for removing any wooden interior door and box. If the box is metal, we do everything in the same way. But you will have to put more effort, since the racks in it are welded with staples. More damage will remain on walls and slopes.
If the walls in the house are concrete, you will need to use a puncher to remove all the remains of concrete in the doorway. In the case of brick surfaces, insulation and sheet material is removed.
